Frequently Asked Questions

Viva Kids

How is the sponsorship money spent?

The sponsorship amount of $30.00 per month is based on the cost of helping one child participate in a Viva Kids partner program. All sponsorship monies are pooled and the monies used to benefit all the children participating in the program. The more sponsors we have, the more children we can have participating in our partner program. The graph below illustrates how the funds are distributed.

In what countries does Viva Kids have child sponsorship?

At this time Viva Kids only has sponsorship available for children in the Dominican Republic.

How do the sponsored children benefit from my monthly contribution?

Essentially, your month contribution allows a sponsored child to participate in one of the Viva Kids' partner children centers. By participation in one of these programs, the sponsored children receive:

  1. Quality education in basic areas of reading, writing, math, science, social studies, etc. They also receive education in English and computer skills.
  2. Medical attention. The centers offer regular 2 medical check-ups for each child as well as helping with any medical emergency which may arise.
  3. Nutritious meals. As part of their program, the centers offer 2-3 nutritious meals per day (5 days a week).
  4. School supplies. When needed, the centers help provide necessary school supplies for the sponsored child.

Can I visit the sponsored children?

Yes. We encouraged sponsors to visit the sponsored children and the Viva Kids field programs. Viva Kids arranges several trips per year to allow sponsors to participate in community-building programs in the areas where sponsored children live. Please contact Viva Kids to see about participating in one of these trips.
